What Portable Gaming Device Should I Get For Travelling?

I love having a portable gaming device with me when I am travelling, it’s a great way to kill time and keep yourself engaged. You can spend hours using these devices and never get bored. They range in price from as low as $22 all the way up to thousands of dollars, depending on what you are looking for and the features of the device.

If you have children, you will try everything in your power to keep the kids engaged and this is one of the ways you can make the time pass. My son uses a Nintendo DS and also has an iPad. Obviously the parents out there know that kids get bored quickly, so we have several options for him especially on long flights. We switch him from playing in his busy binder to playing educational games or watching movies on his Ipad to reading books and finally to playing games on his Nintendo DS.

Doing this there is no reason for the child to get bored and you are doing everyone around you a favour!

Nintendo 3DS

The Nintendo DS is a great little device that keeps my son engaged for hours at a time. Nintendo really specializes in the children’s games and child friendly games. In my opinion this is the best portable gaming machine for children. The content is engaging and child friendly, the machine itself is very durable. My son drops his often and it works like a charm. The games cannot get scratched because they are cartridge style. The buttons are responsive and easy. This is best for ages 3-11. The 3DS also allows you to do more with the machine other than just game. You can download some apps to the DS and it has a 3D mode! Be aware when you buy a 3DS it does not come with a charger. Playstation Vita

The Playstation Vita is Sony’s most recent portable gaming console and is super high quality! I purchased one of these along with many of my favourite games like God of War, Metal Gear and many others. It plays exactly like a regular playstation in a small package. The screen on the Vita is very large Allowing for the best visual gaming experience. The graphics are phenomenal for something in such a small package.
